RS4 vs. M3 SMG cab.

So since picking up my RS4.. my mates have all been dribbling over it, and in particular some mates of mine who are complete petrol heads and all drive quite hot/tasty cars.

For three weeks they have been badgering me to come out and play, so last night now i have covered 2000 miles ish and the car feels a lot more looser etc i though what the hell.. might as well before winter comes and we don't get these dry summer evenings anymore.

Car no. 1 = 2003 Bmw M3 SMG Cab
Car no. 2 = 2001 Subaru Impreza P1
Car no. 3 = 2006 Audi RS4 (mine..)

Basically lined the M3 and the RS4 on the lights, about 1/2 mile stretch, no turnings in, no pedestrian crossing points etc, so basically as safe as it could be. We launched the cars off the lights on green, and 3/3 times the RS4 absolutely mullered the M3, my mate even did a launch control off the lights using his SMG the 2nd time, but to be honest neither him or the spectators were surprised, we were expecting that result.

Then the Subaru arrived, the M3 took a bow and left, and now it was the turn of the Subaru, to my surprise, the Subaru had the RS4 off twice! 1st time i wasn't 100% ready, 2nd time i messed up my 2nd-3rd gear change, so i guess a rematch is in order at some point. We were surprised the P1 took off as quick as it did, specially compared to the RS4, but it still looks like a tonka toy! have some pics, will upload later.

well these guys are absolutely nuts.. i was actually quite reluctant to go and do this with them, they have two normal places..

one is near the mosque in birmingham, off the lights by the mosque, and you stop accelerating as u hit the small lights at the top, then brake normally for the island.

2nd place is on cov road, passed the asda, heading towards the airport direction away from town, 4 lanes, relatively quiet, no speed cameras, and no cctv, off the lights, and stop before the swan island and come back round the swan island. Its not exactly the most hardcore, but it does the trick, in a relatively safe place, and you don't get up to ridiculous speeds, more 0-60 in a 40 really.. well keeps it below double anyway..

Ok last week i came up behind a Gallardo on a m-way somewhere near my home. First off some silly Scooby owner was trying to race him and the Gallardo was all over it trying to get past. Eventually the Scooby realised he had no chance and pulled over to let him past. I thought hmmm and set off to catch him up. He then got stuck behind someone in the outside lane. Which gave me time to get behind him. The slower car pulled over. I heard the Gallardo drop some gears so in kind i did the same and dropped down to 3rd. The Gallardo stepped on the gas with me following. I only went from 3 to the redline in 4th just so i could gauge how close my performance was to the Gallardo. To my surprise the Gallardo didnt gain a single inch. I eased off then went up a slip road where the Gallardo was waiting to get out off the juncton. We were side by side so we both had a quick 1st to 2nd sprint and again not a single inch in it. Pulled up to the next set off lights and had a quick chat. After exchanging abit off mutual respect. He said he had no idea how fast my car was and was surprised. I replied "So am i" with a huge grin on my face.

Ive had mine remapped which is now a true 440bhp - should get yours done so that you would have the edge!!! Had quite some time with a Tuscan S the other day on the track and down the striaghts he just and I mean just pulled away from me, we got back to the pits and he admitted he was giving it to his car and was really surprised how quick mine was!!!
