TMC feature - Followup Action Plan

Judging by the replies to my earlier post on the lack of the TMC feature on the B7 RS4's SatNav system, I propose the following:
I have been in correspondence with Tom Peterkin, Customer Services Operations Manager at Audi UK, highlighting the situation and expressing my discontent. He hasn't promised anything in terms of a solution but I think the more of us that write an email to him, the better the chances of actually seeing a fix coming through.
Can I suggest that we all be professional when writing to Tom - what we want to achieve is awareness amongst senior managers at AUDI UK that a large part of their customer base is not happy with a certain product and using discourteous or rude language will not help our cause. If Tom gets a couple of dozen serious emails about customer concerns, he will take note and hopefully we all win. However if this turns into a flood of rude emails into his inbox, we will be no better off.
His email address is:
thomas.peterkin@audi.co.uk
Be gentle!
Interested to hear any feedback people get. I'll save mine till later.

I've sent him a very professional email (as least that what I think)

I restrained myself from using any profanities.

Any objections to me putting a link to this thread on Tyresmoke. I know several of the guys there have been wanting TMC to be available on the A3/A4 platform for a while now.

Got this today:
Hi Rob,
In addition to your email as below, I am currently receiving a number of emails from understandably frustrated RS4 customers regarding the fact that their vehicles do not have TMC.
Please accept my apologises on behalf of Audi UK that currently this option is not available.
Having spoken to my technical people it would appear that your RS4's technical platform is based on the existing A4 model, which is approximately 4 years old and therefore does not have the most recent technology which exists on the current A6 & A8 models.
I understand that tests are currently being undertaken and when we have a fully developed comprehensive retro fit option I will most certainly nominate your vehicle to be amongst the first to be modified.
Regards
Tom Peterkin

What a load of bollocks............. DVD systems have only been about for 2 years, and even Merc managed to get their system to work on CD Rom based systems...........Until I actually get my car, I cant join the party, but when I do I will come out screaming

Funny that, there must be an echo
The response I got from Tom was identical, word for word literally

It worked OK on the old Audi RNS-D CD Rom system. The RNS-E TMC works great in Europe (France, Belgium & Germany). Audi just need to sort it out for the UK, I think they just need to pay the licence.

With the amount of cars they are selling... its hardly worth having a wip round for them

Its all a bit like the warrenty situation last year, somebody in Audi Uk management is taking their eye off the ball when it comes to formalities, only took them two years to become IFA recognised...........

TMC is the system that uses radio tranmissions to update your sat nav with problems on roads ahead.. traffic, road closures and accidents...........works fine on most other vehicles, not so with Audi.
