Hey Guys

Picked up my Phantom Black RS4 today.

Can't seem to get my phone to connect to the on dash GSM through Bluetooth alone. Infact, no one at the dealer could attach via bluetooth to any of the RS4s on the forecourt.

Any tips?? ie, what am I doing wrong???

Cheers

p.s. Very pleased with the car though!!

What phone do you have? My Nokia 6230i connects no problem? Switch on bluetooth on your phone, search for enhancements, picks up Audi system then the password is 1234.

Thanks Mark

I have a Nokia 8800 and have tried the pairing about 10 times now. No one was able to pair any phone to my car at the garage. Will book it in for them to have a look, I just thought there may be a quick fix.

Cheers

On my B7 my Nokia 6230i connects via blue tooth fine, but it has a fault updating the on-board directory and the best way to do this is connect the mobile directly via the cradle - the problem them goes away. It is easy to proove that the blue tooth does not function correctly by adding a new name and or number to an existing contact and see if it comes up on the car's internal memory.

Paul,

I picked up my Phantom black RS4 yesterday also. I am having the exact same problem with my sony erricson. I have the dash mount system but didn't bother with the cradle as the dealer says you just need the bluetooth unless you want to charge the phone.

Any help much appreciated.

P.S. how do you set the sat-nav to get the TCM info broadcasts.

Charles

I haven't gone for the cradle either. Spend an hour whilst most guys at the dealer yesterday tried to connect to it with no luck. I'm going to book it in to be looked at.

Are you pleased with it??

Cheers

Paul

To be honest, I had to pick it up from stafford audi then drive it back to london then rush out to another engagement. I was very strict with the running in down the M1 and also I dont want to get any stone chips before I armourfend it on thursday so I cant really comment on the performance.
What Iwill say is when I picked it up it looked stunning in phantom black. And the noise when you press the sport button (will always be engaged) was amazing even at 3500 rpm in 5th.
I am going to essex for a bbq today so I hope to get more of a feel for it.
I am very happy.

Correct - not in the UK. But it does work excellently in France though.

Daz,

Actually it works great in the UK, but not in a B7 because Audi haven't bothered to pay the licence fee!

Totally Toss Audi... :audibash:

You are quite right Nick. Yes, it is only the RNS-E (DVD based) which is affected. It works fine with the old RNS-D (CD based) and the MMI ( A6/A8 ).

Just doing some homework..
Do u need a cradle or do the phones work straight off bluetooth interface.
Im guessing it works off bluetooth interface, as to have a cradle you need a little bit of an older phone.
However interested to see what phones you guys are all successfully connecting up to your RS4 blueooth interfaces.

I have a Sony Ericsson K750i and a Nokia 8800 and an old 6310i. My everyday phone is the Nokia 8800 and the Sony, should i have any issues with these, i've got the list back of cradles from Audi, and to be honest, im not keen on any of these phones, so after having spec'd the bluetooth, im hoping it will just be a case of bluetooth connection, and a cradle won't be required afterall.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

you dont need a cradle to work i currentley use an 8800 with mine and works excellent. I can not see any decent phone to change to - Only thing is because your using bluetooth your battery will run down quicker so get a car charger. good luck

Collected my new RS4 yesterday, to say I’m pleased would be an understatement!! :)

Anyway, back on thread – can’t get any phone to work with the Bluetooth (with dash mount cradle) – any suggestions?

Spent about an hour with the dealer trying to get this to work with various phones – when searching for devices from the phone, the Audi Bluetooth is never detected. I have a Sony Ericson K750i. The dealer had a Nokia - neither detected the Bluetooth device, yet both worked fine in another A4 with the same Bluetooth equipment!

I’m starting to think there is something wrong with the car. The dealer is all out of idea’s! Am I missing something? Maybe the Bluetooth on the car has been “deactivated”.

Haven’t got the dash mount adapter yet - so can't even work that way! :(

Any suggestions gratefully received,

Darren.

Hey Darren

I have had exactly the same problem. Audi currently have major issues with the bluetooth connection with on dash GSM kits on the RS4's.

My car has spent 2 days in the dealer and in conjunction with Audi technical and customer services, the problem was fixed by a software reboot.

I am aware of 8 RS4's, all delivered in the last month with the problem. A call to Jan, Audi customer services manager on 08001971828 will register the problem with Audi and they should be able to liase with your dealer to fix it!

I have to say that, now it works, it is a fantastic system, way better than my Range Rover Sport bluetooth system.

Good luck and if you need any more info then please get in touch.

Cheers

Paul
