The other day i got a call from my dealer teling me they are expecting my car in the week starting the 26th June. When i was originally told November
This is not the ideal time for me as certain things arnt going to be freed up until the end of the year. However im getting very impatient and providing i get a good price for my TT. I'm going to take it early

That doesn't make sense. How can a car arrive 4 whole months early?

Thats the only thing I can imagine. In which case the dealer is telling porky pies. Which doesn't matter if the chap wants the car earlier anyway I suppose!

I think the original lead times were there simply to steer demand. It makes it look like everyone is clamering to get one when in fact I can't remember another top of the line Audi being met with loads of posts about cancelling orders.
I don't think it's doing the numbers they planned.

Yes many cars are turning up early. The company that were going to buy my RS4 on delivery have had to pull out because their Avants are coming early and so they can't hold all that stock.
It may turn out that cars for delivery Mar/apr 07 start turning up in Oct onwards. Audi have been underhanded, to give the impression of great demand and hence resale values. No different to any other company I suppose, I just wish I hadn't believed them

Was going to say that. But as it's what you said to me, i thought i let you do it.
What you say does sound reasonable. However there is still high demand for them. I know my dealer isnt bothered by cancelled orders because he knows he can sell the car the same day to someone else.
BTW Scotty, i let commonsense over my eagerness prevail. Told the dealer that if the price on the TT is not great. Then we will have a problem as i was expecting it in November and planned the finances for then. He checked over the car the other day and said he will get a figure for me and call me(Tuesday). He said it wont be as bad as i think...So heres hoping

God I hope (in some ways) that the Mar/Apr 07 cars don't turn up in october. No Idea how I'd pay for it if it turned up then!
