I do agree, however I didnt buy this car to stand out, thats what the 911 was for etc. The people that can spot the difference are obviously car fans and thats all that matters really IMHO.

ok, one is blue.....the other isnt.......ermmm
No seriously I agree with you three and I dont know whether its just me...but I can immediately spot 6 differences and one major difference being the RS4 stance, the way it sits on the road....
But I feel this is a common situation with most cars that have beefed up, grown up, faster and ferocious (and more expensive) siblings... its only car geeks that spot them...like these examples below:
- The bog standard Porsche Carrera and the 4S
- BMW 530 and the M5
- Bottom of the pile Range Rover Sport diesel and the range topping Supercharged one
...i could go one....but I won't.
If I wanted people to know I was doing well, had 50K to spend on a car and 'look at me!' I would get a drop top M3, maybe a used 4S or whatever. I know myself though that I have always turned my head and thought "nice one" when a fast audi tries to sneak by

Even though it could do with looking a little 'harder', its only inadequates who need to stand out from the crowd with their car. If the fact it looks 'ordinary' means less of these types drive/own one then thats good news!

I agree that the RS4 is subtle, and that is one of the reasons I am getting one (although I have gone for Sprint Blue).
However, parked side by side with an S-line A4 there is a huge difference. The RS4 has so much more presence and the stance of the car is so much more agressive. The wheel arches and extended sills make a big difference.
I currently have a Dolphin Grey B7 A4 Avant 2.0T quattro S-line as a loan car sitting on my drive. Although in isolation it is a very attractive car (IMO) it is not a patch on the RS4.
