Dies in 2nd gear

A couple of times when I've been pulling away quite hard and changed into 2nd gear and accelerated hard again, the engine dies for for a moment before pulling again. At first I though it was the traction control, but the light on the dash doesn't come on so I don't think it is.
Anyone else has the same problem?
While I'm having a moan, does anyone elses run as rough as a bears arse when its cold.
I know the dealers were supposed to change the spark plugs at PDI, I'm thinking mine might have slipped through and the original plugs are the problem. Thoughts?

I changed mine at the weekend, the plug closest to the front of the engine on the passenger side can be difficult to get to, i found that this one looked as though it had not been changed since new. If in doubt, do them yourself or make sure that you always see the old parts.

Bit loath to do it myself if it should have been done at PDI and I don't want the dealer shouting void warranty at me if I change the plugs myself.

Davey B,
Regarding the dieing issue - mine does the same, however when I turn the t/c ESP off it's fine so it is to do with that so no need to worry.

Not subtle is it? It's like the engine has stalled.

Ask them to change them and show you the old ones to prove its been done. Get straight into your dealership, you paid a lot of money for it, get it sorted.

Mine does the same. I have only noticed it a couple of times. The B5 didn't do it, so it shouldn't be the ESP. I will let the dealer know

mine dies in first,(when you floor it ) second, and third when changing up quickly from high revs.Turning off the ESP stops it .
Went to the dealers and they test drove it, booked it into be checked out for a day on the computer and said will call audi with a "dis" report and see if they are aware of the problem and have an upgrade for the management system or the t/c system . couldn't have been more helpful or appologetic.

Im not sure if this is a similar problem to which the Golf R32`s suffered... seems to sound the same to me..... the engines power delivery hesistates under load when pulling away etc... a new ecu mapping cured the problem and transformed the car! It took alot of us on TSN to log this fault with VW before the UK`s master techie at HQ investigated the problem... VW Germany knew so a new mapping was made.
Hope mine doesnt have this problem

Mine too, give her the holley from 2000 revs in 2nd or third and she stalls momentarily. 2 outa 3 times.

By the way, My dealer, Agnew Belfast, told me the engines were bench tested and she dosnt need run in, but im not taking any chances.

Wouldn't trust a word they say.......... Agnews are the biggest shower I have ever come across. I bought my B5 from them and they were so inept it was a laugh....
