dissapointed...

Post by tartan_rob » Sun Apr 30, 2006 6:59 pm

I test drove one today and I must say it was one car i really looked forward to driving....but was gutted by the lack of acceleration by it. Had 2.4k miles and when I floored it in 2nd it was not slow but no where near as fast I thought it would be...so now its off my shopping list....

The RS4 power is very smooth... none of that turbo kick feeling....

What else is on your shopping list?

May not be the fastest kid on the block but there's not much that would keep up in the corners in the real world,IMO

I don't doubt the capability of the car it was just dissapointing and as 80 of my driving is motorway...

I think it'll be an RS6 or my car with RS4/6 hybrids..

Stick to the 6 for the motorway and the 4 for the lanes.

If that's an option,my wallet won't stretch that far unfortunatley.

good luck

Yup anyone driving a chipped B5 S4 is going to notice the lack of torque in the new RS. BHP is far from the whole story when driving a car normally.

Had my first drive today - mines due in July. Must say my amd stage 3 s4 feels quicker accelerating. BUT the whole Rs4 package is just divine! Hope AMD can work some wonders with the Rs4 when it arrives to sort that torque out!

You may be further disappointed Duncan as supercharging ( apart from zorst upgrade = minimal bhp+) seems to be the only available option at the mo and is not cheap. MTM have been working on this with the work set to retail at more than 10 large. Just what I heard from reputable tuner source.

I still can't understand how everyone is still comparing the B7 to a tuned version of its predecessor. Shouldn't we be talking about the cars in stock form here?

In a months time I may be a littler shocked to then...I currently own a DMS tuned 996 TT with BHP and torque figs of 500.

I must say that I felt the same way when I test drove one but decided to go for it anyway, however since taking delivery of mine 6 weeks ago the car has got quicker and ive also learnt how to drive the car to it's full potential and to race ferrari's etc and to keep up with them and RS6 Plus's which I was all over the back of it's not a slow car, it's deceptively quick and thats coming out of 911, M5 (e39), m3's etc.
