Been offered two cars ... Red or Grey?

Post by boysey » Fri Mar 31, 2006 5:01 pm

I really wanted a black one but beggars can't be choosers and I've been offered a Red physical car or a Grey one for May delivery?

What do you think? Head says grey, heart says Red?

Picked up my Misano red Rs4 Wednesday - Looke F***ing lovely, looks so much better in the flesh. Have seen both a grey and black one in the flesh too. Thoughts are - black, I personally think doesnt show its shape of the front grill and air intakes well enough. Grey, nice but a little bland. Again just my personal opinion!

I went out in my local dealers demo today and that was grey. IMHO does look a bit bland. Red would be my first choice.

From a resale point of view I would avoid any of the garish colours like Red, Yellow and Sprint Blue.

I reckon the safe and nice colours are Mugello Blue (My Fave), Phantom Black and then Daytona Grey (Easily the most popular colour ordered)

The Avus looks great when you see the car inthe flesh, picture do not do it justice, it has a touch of class, also not to many around in Avus and should be good for residuals.

It's a personal thing, one mans meat is another mans poison as they say.

I agree that Avus looks awesome on the B5 looking forward to seeing it in the B7 it may just add that certain je ne sais quoi to the subtle curves that perhaps the daytona/black dont allow.

Audi Crawley have just got an Avus Silver RS4 demonstrator with the black optic pack, as the are just about to sell their original Missano Red demonstartor. They want list for it I think with about 6K on the clock.

I think the car was arriving this weekend. Was going to pop up to Crawley yesterday, but getting a few things together as we off on holiday tomorrow. Plan to go along when I get back. I am sure if you speak to one of the guys in sales they will take a picture and email it to you, they are always very helpful there.

I have ordered the Missano Red. My second choice would be the Sprint Blue. I don't think of resale value. I think of TODAY and not so much about tomorrow. It's a matter of philosphy I suppose.

Would be good to see Avus with black optics, have a feeling this colour might well suit the optics pack perfectly.
