Rs4 and S Line side by side

At the Audi dealer today and their demo Daytona RS4 was lined up alongside a few s line A4s - from the front there really isnt much in it - mirrors, honeycomb grill, different front valance and only slightly wider front arches. Looked like another A4 S Line with a nicer bodykit.

I think its the colour though as Daytona is very subtle, whereas Misano or Sprint Blue would stand out more I think.

Whilst I agree that the S-line looks very good and almost the same as the RS4, it is not half the car. It's not just the looks you are investing in, it's the whole extremely well engineered package that the 4 offers.

It sits on a wider track and has had a complete suspension overhaul (DRC). Most of the power is delivered to the rear wheels (Up to 85%).
The FSI engine is awesome and it revs to 8250rpm :D
Alot lighter with it Aluminium construction

Remember we are talking Supercar in a conservative body. Apparently delimited this puppy can achieve 190mph.

Its really sad that Audi have cheapened the RS4. You would never mistake a B5 for a TDi

Cheapened?

sorry but all they have done is improve the car with many different aspects.

That's not the point, it does not look like an RS4 should.

You should be able to easily distinguish it from an S-line in my opinion.

There's always going to be a bone of contention between those who love the B5 and those who are spending 50k on a B7, but one thing is for sure, no one would dissagree that the B7 is a better car overall. That's why as an ex B5 owner, I've ordered one. Then again, so it should be 5 years on.

What is also undeniable is that as Simon points out, it's not 'special' just like M3's aren't special. The pic above proves that, as does the number that are being made, and the number of variants.

Yup, I've gotta say I do like the B7 but I'm not sure it quite stands out enough from the slines for my liking. I'm sure there are a few of you who are buying a B7 for the stealth bomber feel though.

last saturday as Clive and I pulled out of his road on yet another trip to Charlie Browns we both said in unison "RS4" as a red Audi approached us, then both hung our heads in shame as we realised it was actually an A3. ooooh the shame, but then again, if we can't recognise one it proves it really is an annonymous looking car.
