It's amazing the number of Avant orders that seem to now be going through. Is this due to pictures of the car just being shown and its appearance at the Geneva Motorshow?

No it's because it has only been possible for a dealer to place an official spec chosen order to the factory as of yesterday.

I don't know if I'm talking rubbish, but I'm sure that when I ordered my saloon the dealer said that if I went for the phone in the armrest it deleted something pretty good. I can't remember exactly what, but it might have been the steering wheel with the flat bottom?

Yes it does indeed delete the sports steering wheel which has the S button on it, your better of either dropping the phone prep or opt for the dash mounted one.
Im not bothering with phone prep or tv for the sat nav.

I specced my RS4 Avant with a £1500 deposit at the dealer in November and assumed that this info was then passed on to Audi UK at Milton Keynes. Does that mean that my order and spec has gone from Audi UK to Audi Germany as of yesterday or is it down to the dealership to put the order through to Germany on the 1st of March. Up to what point can I change that spec before the car is built and if I do so does it mean the car will be put further down the list and therefore delayed?

No confirmed orders were accepted before 1st March, and certainly no deposit should have been collected, My order was accepted last summer by way of a letter of intention with no demand for deposit until the car was officially ordered and spec'd. For one thing, Audi had not confirmed they were going to make the Avant until it was released at Geneva, although most Audi UK bods seemed to think it would go ahead. I would double check your order with the dealer just to be sure to be sure.......
Will check out the phone prep issue, would not be very clever to loose the sport button now would it

Confirmed, centre arm rest phone prep deletes RS steering wheel, so now going for dash prep........ should read Phantom black, Panther black was old UR colour, some habits are hard to change

I believe you would have to then have the multi function steering wheel instead of the RS sports steering wheel to operate the phone.
