RS4 Recaros

Post by Kev.S » Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:07 am

Can anyone with access to part numbers tell me if the Recaro option seats on the RS4 are the same as the ones in the RS6?
I'm asking because the S6 I had before the RS6 also had Recaros which, apart from the covering, seemed identical to the ones in my RS6, but were very slightly narrower between the squabs on the upright. These gave me backache on long journeys- something I've never experienced in the RS6.

Is this supposed to be a B5 RS4 question?

Whilst we are talking seats..correct me if I am wrong but the Recaro option on the new RS4 is a more comfy looking seat? Is it the seat that is pictured in both tan and grey in the brochure (area where you can go off piste) and the RS4 sports seat is the one with the RS4 logo and the cut outs over each shoulder (in all the main pics in the brochure) ?

Reason is I am hunting a cancelled order and I don't want the comfy arm chairs I want the race look buckets. I guess the confusion is that when we talk Recaro we always think race car, whereas this is not the case in the RS4? Or am I the one thats got it wrong?

Sorry to hijack the post.

I'm pretty sure both types of seats are Recaros. My guess would be that the bucket seats are called sport seats for the B7 RS4, but I may be wrong. Go onto the audi website and try the configurator, I'm guessing you should then find what both options are called.

Just another point to note, if you spec' the Recaro's the sport button doesn't work with the seats.

I believe that the Recaro badged NCO seats are the same as in the S4. I would prefer them but can find no one who can confirm if these seats (which are electric) have memory function.

Doh! Just realised as I was backing in tonight that they can't possibly be the same part number as mine have RS6 embossed across them.

FWIW I have sat in a car with the standard buckets and found them too tight around the thighs but great on the shoulders. Meanwhile, the Recaros on my S4s are perfect. Anyone else?
