With deliveries of the B7 only now a few weeks away I wondered if anyone has been able to get insurance quotes yet, my insurers told me recently they could not quote until mid Feb. I am keen to know approx how much they are going to fleece!! sorry charge me.

Hi. Im 24 right now, and i renewed my insurance the other day on my range rover sport, and felt it necessary to make sure that direct line would cover me come RS4 time in June. Paying £680 right now on my RRS, they put my RS4 through for June and quoted me an additional £380 in June for the remainder of the 12 months, so looks like the car has entered the insurance data bases now and they are able to quote on it.
Definitely the right car, RS4 4.2 Quattro Manual, B7.
Told them all the spec im having, and it made no difference.
That quotation is based on 7 years driving, with 7 years NCB, no points and 24 years of age, on my driveway. But they want at least a tracker monitor so will be a few hundred quid more for this (over the retrieve), but still all in all not bad. They wanted £1500 for the M3 per annum, so i think the relatively subtle styling and stealthness of the RS4 is paying off in this respect.

Sounds not to bad. I have just been advised by Esure that they will not quote the RS and have referred me to their sister company who have now quoted £615 based on Garaged, Tracker Monitor, 43yrs, 7+years ncd protected full comp. Quite happy with this.

32 is young for me

even so i would say it young to be buying a £50k car - havent looked buy from knowing how much finance was for an S4 i would say its got to be £1,000 a month which is £20,000 a year before tax.
On basis that on top you that you have mortgage - possibly kids, beer money etc etc you woul need a salary circa £75k a year - which i would consider a well payed job at 32, yet alone 24 as one person is.
As i said im just curious - and a little jealous

Yes im 24, and this will be my most expensive car to date. I have been involved in a property business since the age of 17 which has given me a fantastic credit rating, which comes in very handy for the financing of these top end motors.
My most expensive car to date is my current car a Range Rover Sport which cost me 44.5k last year. By buying cars either second hand i.e. all my past bmw's after the first owner has taken the initial big hit i.e. my 325ci cab was £42k with all its spec, picked it up 14 months old for £26k and sold it 8 months later for £23k. Its not all about the actual value of the car, all about the residuals and the loss the car takes in the time of ownership. The alternative is to buy top end cars which are built in limited numbers or attract a waiting list, that way my hit is minimised over my range of ownership of varying cars.
I come from a family of accountants, so am a bit anal when it comes to figures and finances, but guess its all worth it when i can enjoy these cars at a relatively young age. I always say its not just income, its credit rating that gets you these loans, i don't earn anywhere near £75k a year and no way do you need to in my experience. Im going to be paying about £640pm on my RS4 which is better then £1k per month!
Have a new E90 M3 arriving next year so im hoping the RS4 doesn't shed a lot of value and hope the LP/PCP repayments can keep in line with the depreciation.
