Hmmm...

Post by bobjebb » Thu Dec 01, 2005 1:32 pm

Just spoken with a couple of dealers regarding dates for the Avant. Trying to find the fastest route to get one, the last dealer has told me that 1500 quid secures an Avant for July next year...

Wrong I presume?

Sounds about right, I have £1500 down and I am expecting June-July next year.

Although it does say to me there is low demand for the Avant right now. Same thing with the saloons, although my sales bod said the demand has risen for the saloon due to the positive press coverage in the last few months.

I have had £1500 deposit down for over a year on an avant and am also expecting June/July. I think people who have placed deposits will be first to get delivery ( This should be the case! ) so i would suggest putting down the deposit. I assumed that the avant would be delayed as the saloon has been put back but apparently this is not the case even though no offical pictures have been released.

My dealer said they already have 13 Avant orders against 11 allocated to them.
Until Top Gear's review they supposedly didn't have any Saloon orders, but got 4 the morning after the show went out!

When you are a long standing customer, you should get a call to see if you would like to order a new model. Order, deposits.... Pah, waste of time.

Avant on order for Mid 2007, has been on order since 2002 (Oh and I ordered a Le Mans/R8 then too). Deposit refunded due to useless dealerships, and will go to Neckarsulm to spec mine. If I'm going to spend 50k+ on a car and keep it for 5+ years, then I want to make sure it is as close to perfect as it can get.

I put down £1500 for my avant and was told i was second on the list. They expect the first two to arrive in August/September according to Audi UK.

Couple of reasons really...

- My company car policy allows me to have a private car that is under 6 years old. In July 2007 my RS4 will come of age, and must be replaced.
- By mid 2007 we will know a lot more about the B7 RS4 (Been through the teething problems with the B5), and who knows... there may be something tastier on the market.

I have put a deposit down for an RS4 Avant in November last year, and heard absolutely nothing from my dealership since. I feel no one knows nothing about the Avant dates. When I went to Geneva on March to see the RS4 at the Geneva Auto Show, talking to a guy that works for Audi in Switzerland he said the Avant would be presented in March 2006... based on facts it seems he may have been right....

I also fancy an Avant in July 2007, hopefully a 1 year old car will have lost £15k by then :D
Hate to think what the CSL will loose in the mean time though:wink:
