Help Required

Post by Millie » Wed Nov 30, 2005 12:12 am

Hi all, I posted some months ago that I was considering changing my current car, Subaru WR1. As usual other things in my life took over, and I am only just getting round selling my car, good news I may already have a buyer.

I am still actually undecided what to buy, but have been a keen admirer of the Audi RS range, and in particular the upcoming RS4. I have taken out the BMW CSL and this is still up for consideration.

Finance is also a consideration, I have been visiting this site for sometime, and wounder if anyone can help. In an attempt to try and see the monthly cost I have configured a car on the Audi site, but as yet the Finance option is unable to give me an example of cost using the new options.

Would anyone know from a previous purchases what I might expect to pay on a monthly basis on the RS4 costing say £53700 3 1/2 yrs annual mileage 10k deposit £10k .

I understand that this car is not a limited run but I would still hope the gte value would be reasonable. This option best suits my salary benefits. A reply would be greatly appreciated, PM me if preferred, if the cost is out I will look to the CSL or perhaps a SLK 55 AMG, similar price similar deposit monthly cost was not too much over £500.

Think you're nuts, but aren't we all. I did a rough calculation using this, secured loan only:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/motori ... centre.jsp

STERLING CREDIT LTD Plan W2
8.9%
£1,380.64 per month
£49,703.04

That's SIX GRAND in interest in 36 months... A lot of money. Also I think residuals will be pretty awful, they always are, cars are a mugs game, I don't know why we do it. :drink:

Good luck
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

My new RS4 will be leased, and at about the same price as yours, with £2.5k deposit, over 3 years and a baloon of 22k, it works out at just over the £1000 p/month

I can give you the lease company info if you wish

Indeed.

I have been quoted similar figures to JonP.

The sort of costs you are hoping for is what I currently pay on my Allroad - 560/month with 4k deposit and a lowish baloon due to a high (40k) annual mileage - so given the RS4 is about 20grand more even taking your low mileage and presumably large baloon into account I still reckon you will be doing well to keep it in three figures, almost certainly no less than 750/month.

By my rough calculations....

53,700 OTR
10,000 Dep
= 43,700 over 42 months

Assuming APR @ 6% over term
= 53,600 to repay

Assuming 40% balloon value at end of term = 21,440

Which means 42 monthly payments of 765.71

Hope that helps.

Jesus this thread makes my eyes water, with heavy initial depreciation and interest monthly payments of 7-8-900 will be to rent the car at best.

Thanks for the replies, appreciated. £750 per month would be my limit but have the option of making a larger deposit, although not sure if I would want to do. I suppose I will have to wait until Audi comes out with the figures for the balloon payment, once again thankyou.
