Post by johneroberts » Thu Nov 03, 2005 4:26 pm

I have been invited to a RS4B7 Driving Experience at Silverstone on the 14th, hoping to take pictures and do a bit of a write up, on behalf of RS246, and dont forget that we will have one at Donnington at our Xmas Bash, with an Audi Driver giving hot laps
Cheers

Now then.... What john actually meant to say is:

Audi UK kindly offered us a place on the RS4 Advanced Driving Experience. Phil (the poor bar steward) is working in Vegas on the available dates, so he gave it to John (Yes, Phil is completely gutted).

Also, we are working hard to get a B7 RS4 to our Xmas event. I was trying to keep it a little bit of a secret until we have a 100% go ahead, but now that you guys know, it would be nice if a few more of you could sign up for the day. If the RS4 doesn't make it there, Audi have a few other things up their sleve to ensure that you have a great day ;)

Was at Silverstone yesterday and the day was excellent, the car is everything people have been saying about it in the magazines, great handling, brakes, gearbox and engine. The power is progressive and pulls very strong in all gears and with the sport button on it does make a difference to the throttle response and noise of the exhaust. I was paired with a guy called Martin who had an RS6 and he seemed impressed with the car but said it wasn't as fast as the RS6,his was over 500hp anyway and he was a part time rally driver!! Those of you guys waiting for the car it will be worth the wait and those like myself waiting for the advant will just have to hang on abit longer! Regarding the advant one of the other Audi guys i spoke to has seen the car in the flesh and he said in his opinion it looked better than the previous RS4. Also hopefully will be with us in RHD in June/July.

RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Hi, I was at the RS4 day at Silverstone on sunday, l personally think the car is great, much more involving to drive than an S4 and my A3 3.2, the steering, brakes and pure cornerabllity make it real gem. I just wish we could of had another 6 laps to play with it at the end of the day (my final two laps were getting almost perfect - well in my eyes and one of the instructors!! )

Ultimately it was like a couple of other people I spoke to said- if Audi had released it as a limited edition ie 1000 units RHD in saloon and avant, it would retain its value and be worth the 50K+(prob 55K with extras) - it would be a true worthy M3 beater with a high qudos- a car in many way far better than the orignal - but with the fear that Audi will just build as many it can sell, it will hurt the euthastist, and depreciate 15K after you take it out of showroom.

That said I'm still sold, but with a heavy heart. - Audi have made a truely brilliant car!

Mark

Was there too on Monday 14th, CAR WAS SOOOOOOOO FAST! Amazing and I cant wait to get it. HATE waiting ........and that has made it worse. My V6 TT felt very slow after that experience. The instructors were amazing and the 17 people that attended there were a great bunch, so if it was one of you THANKS
Must say I was meant to do 6 laps at the end of the day but accidentally did 7 laps.........was going so bloody FAST I missed the pit turn off!!!!
