RS4 Delays

Post by markweems » Sat Oct 01, 2005 10:09 am

I had a phone call from Audi UK yesterday saying that the launch of the RS4 is delayed till March 2006 at the earliest!! They are offering a free Audi driving experience to people who have orders and deposits down for the RS4!

Haven't got mine... I cancelled the order for the saloon, but still have an order on an avant. Will not buy until I drive though.

If the car is being reviewed in germany already, why the 6 months delay - any reason? Not that I'll be ordering one :)

No idea.... but I would suggest they are coming up with some 'issues' and want to sort them before they start selling. One thing will be cast in iron, they are not going to want to repeat their experiences with the last car, cost Audi UK £0000000's the last time. I for one would like to see a well sorted car on the market rather than one the customer does all the R&D on.............

That is pretty cruel when the Safety Car at the A1 GP looked and sounded fantastic. It must have stirred up a lot of interest. Especially/because it was also an FPA day.
Maybe for those that had never considered an RS4 before, March does not seem too long away...but for the rest of us, it's torment seeing it in the flesh which looked so much better than the web-site/pictures would suggest. I had decided on an RS6 having ruled out the B7 RS4 from piccies I had seen which has seriously made me reconsider. Pah!
