New RS4 at the 'Ring..

So we had a nice surprise this weekend on our trip...bumped into a new blue RS4 at the petrol station...and saw it a fair bit in the ring car park.
Had a good look round it and met the 'owner' - someone who worked at the factory.
Managed to get a sit in it and have to say the seats are very nice. Overall it didn't bowl me over though...didn't have the presence in the flesh that I'd hoped it might...certainly not compared to a B5 RS4 IMHO.
Brakes looked nice, as did the wheels...suspect the 'owner' was something to do with engine development and he raved about the power delivery.
Followed TarmacTerrorists' car most of the way home...still love the look of the B5 from all angles. Shame I can't say the same of the new one.

Ta

still looks a bit naff in the pictures (no due to the photographer that is) any better in the flesh would you be tempted with the avant?

Personally I don't think so...it doesn't have the 'squat' aggressive look of the B5 and the rear quarters of the car look too high and bulbous to me (Avant will probably look better in this area though).
I think the engine will be pretty damn good....but I can't see the car being significantly faster than a B5 with sorted suspension.

Didn't get my juices going either in the carpark or seeing it out on the ring (Going very slow.... I over took with ease :cheesy:)

I'm still not sold on the looks of the front. That 3/4 front picture does nothing for it at all imo.
I also agree the back in that pic looks to high.
Nice bit of magic there Dave, managing to take the pic and be in it as well

Not sure about the calipers but I don't think so..the discs definately weren't - they were actually ceramic ! - Apparently to be an option.
You heard it here first

Anybody else notice the cross drill holes appeared to be travelling in the wrong direction to what they normally would on the fronts, didn't actually check to see which way the veining was going, perhaps some idiot got the left and right mixed up when fitting them!

[quote="DaveP"]Not sure about the calipers but I donCeramic? Wow, I hope they fair better than the Porsche PCCB brakes! That is, I hope they last longer, especially on the track. It makes changing rotors a VERY expensive investment

They last twice as long if they are fitted "back to front"
