Do you think that Audi will one day have a European delivery program? That would really make buying the RS4 a pleasure. They seem to be going down the path of more custom and exclusive services, does this not seem like a logical step?
Thanks

European Delivery, I know they don't but will they ever?
RE: European Delivery, I know they don
Can you explain what you mean?
RE: European Delivery, I know they don
I guess its unique to us Yanks, but Porsche and BMW let you take delivery of your car in Germany. Then you can bang around in it for a couple weeks/months and then they shipped to the USA. However, Audi currently does not offer such a service.
RE: European Delivery, I know they don
I looked into this months ago, for the same reason as you.
I'd love to haul my RS4 round the RING and shoot some video.
No Euro delivery and NO more shooting video allowed on the RING.
so, that's it......

When I was in Ingolstadt I asked and was told no. I checked with my Audi UK contact when I was back here and he said rather than it saving people money it would cost more as people would expect a factory tour, lunch etc and Audi Germany would charge Audi Uk and hence it would cost more. The cost of shipping the cars at the bulk they do is minimal. Also because some cars are produced there and others at Neckarsulm they could be stuck moving the cars internally in Germany as Neckarsulm didn't have a customer point. I believe that they now have or at least will do soon.
Either way I think you'll have to pay extra to go and collect your car.

quattro GmbH charge more than Porsche does to do custom work on a car - "leather roof, of course sir, EUR 5,000", Porsche charge less than half. Its actually far cheaper to take delivery of a bog standard car and take it to Ruf or TechArt to have the interior done the way it should have been done in the first place. All that leather sure smells fine though.
Anybody in Europe can take delivery of their car in Ingolstadt or Neckarsulm. British dealers can't be arsed. So order your car, RHD spec from a dealer in Germany and pick it up from the factory of your choice. If its an A8, you get a nice lunch thrown in.
If you get the bosses of AOA and VOA sufficiently well oiled, they will tell you that their customers can't drive and should not be allowed anywhere near Germany in a fast motorcar. They know exactly how PAG runs its European delivery program, they have had presentations explaining how to set it up and operate it. They have decided that Audi customers in general don't need it, so it gets binned every time. VIP customers can have their cars sprayed with teflon and delivered on the moon as far as they are concerned, whatever the VIP wants, so the trick for you is to become an Audi VIP.
