I wanna be in your gang!!

I currently drive an S4 B6 4.2 and am very pleased with it but I would dearly love an RS4, the problem? I am a paraplegic and therefore need an automatic with hand control conversion, and Audi are not doing the RS4 with either a tiptronic or DSG box as yet. Does anybody have any idea if they plan to introduce one? I have asked my local dealer to keep me informed, but the people who REALLY know seem to be on this site.
Yours optimstically, Basil

Only have two suggestions....

1. Speak to Keith @ Dialynx about retrofitting an auto box
2. Consider an RS6

If you don't get anywhere, let me know and I'll ask quattro GmbH directly what options you have

Thanks, will speak to Dialynx, bit jittery about warranties though. RS6, if I had known that there would be no tip/dsg with the RS4 I would have gone for an RS6 Plus. Need to buy new as aposed used, although I don't like Avants, prefer saloons, fussy bleeder!

Will let you know

My dealer said to me that the RS4 saloon is coming in manual from October with 'other variants to follow'. When I asked about an auto/DSG/Tip he just repeated that 'other variants to follow' around the start of 2006.

I would wait to see..............

Or you should try fitting it with an electronic clutch. Guidosimplex do these, can be fitted to most anything, they also do hand control throttle and brakes. You can actually see RS4 B5 driven on track by a paraplegic with Guidosimplex electronic clutch, throttle and brake in this movie (19.1MB mepg, shaky footage due to camera mounting), if you suspect it is too difficult. It's not.

Thanks everybody for the help. I enjoyed the video, the system looks quite useable, I have heard of it before, unfortunately it would mean me re-taking my test to drive a manual car. So I think I will wait and see what happens next year, and if they decide not to launch a tip/dsg version then I will seriously consider the manual version.

Thanks again fellas
