One of the reasons that Audi UK have started the "official RS4 list" (with deposits) is to catch speculators placing deposits at a number of dealers. I've heard that they will only proceed with the order if the registered holders name and address is the same as the original deposit details.

Someone is going to be disappointed if they bid on this, especially as it is still rumoured that the new RS4 won't be limited.

Amazing. Being bored and mildly drunk i had a shufti at the guy's ebay history (which in fairness is good) and it looks like he has a business in selling model aircraft - i wonder if he has decided to diversify into other flying objects - of the porcine variety....
I dont suppose Audi care much - it's not a limited edition so they are no doubt happy to sell to whoever comes along, Ebay might have something to say about the misrepresentation though...? If anyone could be bothered (which I doubt!) they could put a call into Mr Richard-Whatshisname-Salesman at Bath Audi - it would be interesting to see how long his waiting list is and how much deposit he wants.
Also, if anyone wants a place high up on the list they can have mine for the price of a phonecall (and maybe a pint if you're local).

Called into Millhouse Audi and had some coffee, and wound up Richard Double-barrel about the Ebay posting  He was slightly redfaced about the issue and didnt want to discuss it in any depth

How long's his waiting list then....?! Not very, I'll wager!

And weren't the stingy buggers offering free coke then (I refer to a topical current post on the RS6 thread...)

thats the official line, but if you pays your money you'll get your details logged and loaded now. ;)

And if you 'register an interest' for the avant, like I have, you might get your details loaded too (I'm still waiting to see if they've done this for me. Will find out on Thursday).

Thats interesting - my local dealer rang me asking if i wanted to take up my place for a saloon, which I politely declined (and at which he expressed no surprise, dejected resignation more like: "Oh God, not another one...?"), but said I would like to be down for the Avant, and he told me it was at least a year away, that he would 'register my interest' (whatever that means) and actually declined my offer of a deposit.

Went into Guildford Audi and registered my interest in an Avant. He stated they had 2 deposits already and was I interested in placing £1500 deposit to which he got a short response. Reckoned they wouldnt get the Saloon demo until December and Avant June 2006.
