V8 Turbo rumours again...

Had a look at a weekly magazine today (not Autocar, but similar) - It had an article on the facelift A4's due next year....

It also said there will be a turbocharged V8 RS4 too !

I know, all rumours and they probably know less than us,but maybe a glimmer of hope remains!

Changed your tune a bit from last week, according to you the RS3 had been shelved! As for the engine being non turbo, might be better to wait and see.Product development manager A4 UK reckons RS4 will be a twin turbo same as the RS3-twin turbos.

If I remember correctly, evo magazine had a small article on Cosworth technologies, which mentioned they'd sat in a really fast V6tt Audi which was being developed at Cosworth. This was about a year before the release of official information.

Yes youre absolutely right as we were told at Quattro in November that no plans to produce, but i got privvy to some inside journalistic twaddle (pre Geneva show) that its being produced. Apparantly private showings of a few new cars on the drawing boards.

1200kilos wow some serious dieting going on. My A3 T Sport weighed 1249.
No turbos means no chipping = less warranty claims for us for Audi.
That price must mean some very lightweight low volume(=expensive) parts

RS3? What a waste of time - boy racer heaven. What next? A RS A2 !

The whole Audi world is falling apart.

Why is is a waaste of time? Why do you need a bigger car to make it acceptable?

**confused**

We already have the new 3.2v6 250bhp A3,if the RS3 does indeed go into production will there be a market for the new S3?

Small RS model = something for the Mrs

I'm seriously beginning to doubt her ability (let alone mine) with 420BHP

Not sure I understand. Surely £38K will put it somewhat out of reach of the baseball-hat-on-backwards Saxo brigade? Personally I like the sound of an RS3 - hope it happens.

I'll believe all this when I actually see the RS3.

Somebody on here must be close to the design/development teams at Audi surely?? These cars have to be TUV'd at some point!
