Hi Guys,

So Ive had my RS now for 18 months, I have loved and hated it at the same time lol! There were some annoying issues like the hot start problem but I finally got to the bottom of that after speaking to a motor sport company that make starter motors ... simply a heatproof jacket has solved this very annoying problem!!

However with all the issues fixed and a MRC Stage 2 this RS4 avant is an animal!! WOW ... I have had M5s & M3s for the last 15 years and this RS is as flat through the corners as my E46 M3 .... out of the corners it still goes sideways a little but the way it puts the power down is phenomenal add the sound of the V8 that has had the limiter moved to 8750rpm sounds like thunder!

I have replaced most of the common faults and had a fresh paint jobl!

Parts Replaced / Upgrades

Drivers door wiring replaced
Koni sport shocks on standard springs as the DRC was knackered
Clutch
Slave cylinder
Full Decat
Race downpipes
Upgraded oil cooler
Pipercross Air filer
Disks and pads front and rear
Fuel pump in tank
High pressure fuel pumps x 2 (one on each bank)
MRC stage 2 with overrun
Full carbon clean
New starter motor
Clutch switches
Clutch relays
Service
Re-spray
Carbon steering wheel
Rear wiper removed
Carplay with front components, 12" sub & Rockford punch amp

I now LOVED this 2007 B7 RS4 .. .what a car!!

Hi,
I am interested in what you feel about the Koni Sport dampers.
Were they supplied by CRSperformance?
Did you use the original springs on the car or buy new standard height ones?
If you bought new ones who was the manufacturer and supplier?
My recently bought B7 RS4 (same colour as yours) has a coil-over conversion already which is set much too low and I am not sure how much adjustment there is left to lift it so it may have to be changed for something better.
It is 30mm lower than my stock B6 S4 which is fine for the roads and speed bumps around me!
Ed.

Hi Ed,

Yes they were from CRSperformance, and I used standard springs ... rides and handles better than the DRC setup IMHO... seriously handles like my old e46 M3 with better traction ... so flat in the bends .. ive also poly bushed the rear.

See attached the part numbers for the front and rear shocks for koni... u might be able to get them direct?

Hi again,
Thanks for the reply.
Those part numbers will be useful in the future.
My car needs a lot of work to bring it back to anything like decent operation so sorting the suspension is a few months away yet.
Like all RS's they do not survive well when neglected but sorting them out is part of the fun if you ignore the hours of frustration and mega spares prices!
Ed.

Any reason you chose to have the rear bumper valance painted silver?

How many miles are you on? Always curious to know what mileage people still supercharge these at. Personal preference but I always feel it's a false economy especially if paying MRC to do it, different story if you do it yourself of course. A chap on the FB group recently paid MRC £21k to supercharge his, already on something like 120k miles. Seems so crazy when you consider he could have bought an already supercharged car for a few grand more.

Anyway, your car looks great.

Hi JimBob,
If you still have the Konis with standard RS4 springs on your car can you tell me what the height from the ground to the center of the wheel arch is on front and rear?
I want to get a feel for the amount of ground clearance I would have if I went that route.
Thanks
