Rs4 in 2024 Parts availability

Post by Q197 » Sun Jul 28, 2024 6:05 am

Hi Everyone

I am considering purchasing a B7 Rs4 however my concern is parts availability. Is it hard to get parts? What parts are nla? Is it more mechanical? Or cosmetic?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

Cheers.

I've been very surprised at the lack of cosmetic parts recently. Have been doing a respray of the car and replacing any damaged trim/skirts etc and they've all been discontinued. Parts have had to be repaired and repainted or bought via the Audi Tradition store.

I was even more worried when I read on here recently that the ECUs have been discontinued? Seems crazy for a car from 2006/07 to have this happening. Not sure what Audi is playing at. I've had mine for 14 years, intend to have it for that long again, and I just hope this doesn't become a bigger issue. Thankfully yearly service parts aren't an issue but I know if I prang it or somebody goes into the side of me some day it's most likely game over.

Thank you for your reply. That is concerning, So a weekend only car! If I may ask what cosmetic parts? Is the front grill an issue? Strange with all these parts nla. They still fetch such a high price.

All aluminium trim pieces and lower skirts for side doors were the things I found an issue with.

I've been trying to get oil cooler lines recently and the 2 mounting brackets.

I've managed to get one line. The other I've ordered 3 times, and each time they've come back and said can't get it discontinued.

One time it was dispatched and sent to someone else.

Now trying to source one from France.

The brackets were allegedly dispatched a month ago without tracking and have never arrived.

Very concerning when I intended this to be a long term investment.

Seems to be very limited aftermarket parts available.

I ordered a oil cooler, who make them to order. They make them with either Audi hose thread or an12 hose thread. But even they did not know who could supply an12 hoses to be used with their cooler. Only found a company in America for about $700 before import and tax fees.

So at the moment i have spent hundreds on a cooler and one line, but it's of no use unless I get the other line and brackets

Speak to Luke_RS4 on Instagram, he can sort you out with oil lines.

Brackets will probably need to be custom manufactured based on off the old ones if they are corroded. Liberty Autoworks did my underside restoration and this is the sort of of thing they excel at.

They will definitely be doing my engine bay refurbishment.

Parts supply is becoming serious issue with these now. Most of the old stock has been moved to Audi Tradition but they don't ship to the UK since Brexit happened!!!

Also planning on keeping my RS4 forever but the B7 is going the same way as the B5, very difficult to get parts for now.

I've noticed a lot of the parts website that supply OEM Audi stuff are saying they have items in stock until you order it and then they are actually ordering direct from Audi themselves - and they don't realise until they go to order it that it is discontinued. Any time I've needed a part I've gone direct to Audi to check it's availability and few if any of these OEM resellers have had it when it's been discontinued.
It's a bit worrying going forward and wanting to keep the car going as a daily no? That's my plan after 14 years of ownership.... I hope.

Just noticed your location, Audi Tradition will ship to Ireland with no issues, so you should be able to keep yours running for a good few years.

Just search by the part number you need and loads of stuff is still available for the B7 RS4.

I have basically given up using mine as a daily, it only comes out when there is no road salt on the ground but still gets proper use in the summer.
