I've read up on a few posts around this but I wanted more recommendations on getting a caliper rebuild.

The car has developed a judder in the front brakes (steering wheel shaking). Up on a ramp the passenger side is dragging when I free-spin the wheel. It looks like one of the pads/pots is not returning.

I'd previously had judder but replaced the discs and pads as they were due. It went away for maybe 5k miles but has returned. I'm wondering if there was always an issue with the caliper and uneven wear, which has caused the judder to return.

What are the rebuild options? I don't really have the time to do it myself, so would be good to send it off. Any recommendations would be great.

Also, I presume I will need the discs skimmed if it's uneven.

Any recommendations on skimmers (I've contacted Marcus who I've seen mentioned in the posts, but getting an email about a medical emergency, hope all is well obviously)

Just tried the following:
- Jacked the car up.
- Brakes are definitely dragging on the passenger side wheel. It still moves without too much force but definitely being held.
- Appears to be the top set of pads that are grabbing
- I removed the caliper and pads
- There was lots of dust and crap obviously
- All of the pistons looked even and well seated
- The piston seals look good ( guess I can't really see with the piston withdrawn )

The pads sit on this slide (this is a pick of a new one obvs) This slide seems a bit rough on my caliper and the pads were really stuck in.

It might turn out to be the pistons, but has anyone had any other issues with pads getting stuck?

I've had seized pistons on other cars with single pistons. Far easier to swap out a new piston & seal kit than the 8-pot Brembos.

You could try cleaning it all up but gut feeling is you'll be better off sending it off for a refurb.

I think you're right, I'll probably get them refurbed.

I've cleaned and reassembled but the judder is still present. I expect this is due to the disc being uneven now.

If/when I get the calipers refurbed, what are people's thoughts on using the existing disc and pads?

The discs and pads are a year old (approx 5k mile). It's annoying if I need to fully replace the set.

Marcus the skimmer guy is out of action and not working anymore. Does anyone know if you can send floating front discs off anywhere?
