Jerking whilst accelerating in 3rd gear

Hi!

Brand new on here and some really interesting threads that have helped me already but wanted to get thoughts on the problem I’m having.

In short, the car runs great 99% of the time - recently had carbon clean, new injectors, new MAF sensor, new spark plugs, throttle body cleaned.. as maintenance I planned to do after buying the car about 2 months ago.

However, it’s jerking occasionally under semi-hard acceleration in 3rd gear (only noticed in 3rd gear anyway) - and it’s annoying.

Seems very variable when it does it, has done it when cold and after being driven for a while - and I can’t always recreate it even directly after it’s just done it.

No fault codes showing when the dealer have tested it and driven it with live data (all be it they’ve not been able to replicate it)

Any thoughts? Best guess so far from other comments is maybe a coil pack on its way out.

Thanks in advance!

mine does it in first / 2nd when and i feel like i’m learning to drive again. It’s pretty violent and i have to press the clutch to stop it

It’s all down to your driving - your not applying enough power so it is telling you your an idiot

Lol mine does this too in 1st or 2nd at random. Probably happens once every other drive. I'm curious if anyone ever figured out a fix.

It sounds to me you may have an intermittent vacuum leak causing a momentary lean condition causing that car to knock. I violent cutting out can be a symptom. Maybe after all that work a vac line wasn't properly installed. Check the various solenoids and vac lines such as the flap in the air box, and the one on the front of the engine. Let's hope it's not the one under the inlet.
