I've been looking around but with no success, does anyone know if there is a workshop manual for B7 to download or even if there is a paper one for the old farts like me.

That's a pity as a manuals are great for doing routine maintenance as I'd rather do the jobs myself, ah well hammer and chisel oot, lol.

Shame no one can get hold of torque values, step by step on basic things like brakes, suspension, O and F, Diff and Box even removing bumpers to replace corner lamps.
None of which is super difficult, but it's refreshing and confidence building if there were corresponding how to's published along with release notes to keep everything updated..

In fact, there IS one floating around - and in this forum no less!
I got mine
from here a while ago. Unfortunately, the relevant link is dead already again, but replying there, or PMing the OP might very well help.
For the life of me I can't find it on my PC ATM (it's one beast of a pdf file). If I come across it, next week, and you are still out of luck, I might remember (old fart meself

) to re-post it.

Cheers dubbsely.. I have that on my phone somewhere, gives a great overview of the car and power plant etc.
A Haynes type or even better workshop manual is the holy grail.. mind you, I had a real go at Haynes last year about the piss poor quality of their manuals, I'm talking about images and the shitey bog roll it's printed on.
Less so on cars, but their bike manuals are fecking pants. The parts on bikes are miniscule compared to a typical car and very difficult to make out with the B and W imagery on crap paper.. A lot of the stock images in each manual are decades old... I'm having a rant here !
Their answer it's all down to price, and that they are online blah blah, it still doesn't excuse them from the <beep> the piss poor products.. people will pay an additional fiver for a vastly improved product, I would anyhow..

Got it. (30 days.)
(TBH, I have not yet tried to use the file in earnest - I'm more the hoarder type. From the looks of it it seems a little unwieldy... So, YMMV.)
