New head unit

So finally got the new head unit and rear camera fitted yesterday. Just waiting for the lighting to HDMI cable to arrive to see if the video works

Cheers for that, there is a guy up here that specialises in complex installs, I'm 20 miles North of Glasgow lol.. London's out for me, mind you I did drive down to North of London to pick up a ZX10R two years ago.

I wanted a new head unit and replace various speakers and amp with better quality units but hit a brick wall with Beaver.. might still get this guy to look at it for me.

Gavin at Beaver Audio says it's to do with an optical cable that runs from the amp in the rear to the OE unit.. kinda think part of it he just didn't want to do it as its a long job. Can I ask what kind of money was involved for the job, did you fire in anything else at the same time ?..

Cost breakdown was around £1200, that’s head unit , the double din fitting kit, camera , DAB antenna, HDMI and 2 USB aux extension cable. Plus the fitting cost.

Totally reasonable money, that head unit makes a world of difference the Audi one is total crap, I forgot what the OE unit was like till I jumped into the B8 having had a B7 till 2014.. it's Jurassic Park material..

Do you think they would reply to an email if I sent one to them, I wouldn't completely rule out a visit.. any names you dealt with would be good.

Lastly Do you have B and O in yours

Sorry should have said if you have an Android phone you can wireless connect to watch movies, etc. it’s only Apple phones that need to connect via cable for movies. Car play is without cables

Thanks for your input man, they replied with a comprehensive breakdown of what's likely needed..

Looks like well north of 2 grand.. Need to figure just how much i want it, I've a wedding to pay for next weekend, so need to get that out the way and see whats left in the kitty.

Needless to say I emailed what looks like a decent outfit in Perth, just up the road from me, they never replied, this is the problem up here ! I don't get it, even if they couldn't be arsed knocking up a basic reply they could have emailed back asking me to call them or whatever...pish service !

Might treat myself to a good xmas pressie...
