Intermitant limp mode

Post by 777spectre » Sun Aug 28, 2022 7:46 pm

Hi people i have an intermittent limp home mode issue qith my b7 rs4 for a month or so now and im not having much luck sorting it , it seems to happen only when warm and usually at start up or pulling away under light throttle the EPC light comes on and DSC if i turn ingnition off and on again it runs fine ,ive visually checked the throttle body plug and fitted a new plug , and checked the throttle pedal no obvious faults seen , the fault codes i have at the moment is p1545 throttle control valve system malfunction, ive tryed to reset the throttle valve and no luck , i then replaced the throttle body with a corvett version still fault occurs im not sure its the throtrle pedal but its my next port of call really, as its intermittent or is it possibly an ecu issue has anyone had similar problems any suggestioms qould be appreciated

Thanks

It's it only that one code you are getting?
I had a similar issue and it came down to an ECU problem, but I think I had different error codes.
Then there are two ECUs in a Master/Slave setup so needed both replaced.
I was lucky to have an aftermarket warranty to cover most of it, not cheap....

I had exactly this problem and bought a new throttle body and had it fitted by Audi. Problem fully resolved.
What's with the corvette version and is it new?

I'm having this problem on my 2008 RS4. Took it to the dealer who started by replacing the throttle body connector, to no avail. They say the next step is to replace the throttle body but that it's part of the intake manifold and the whole IM needs to be replaced. Yet I'm reading here that others have replaced only the throttle body..?
