Horn replacement

Post by jamiej » Sun Jan 30, 2022 7:47 pm

Evening all,

Today, a moron cut me up on a slip road, (A4 TFSI if it matters) and I duly bipped my horn.

To my horror, the sound which came out was pathetic and sounded like the old girl had a cold.

I must admit, its been a while since i planted my hand in the middle of the FBSW, which I am sure it used to sound a little more menacing than it does now.

So my question is... Has anyone changed the horn on a B7 RS4 Avant (if it matters) and if so, can you recommend me a replacement and a guide as to how to change it.

About a decade a ago, I swapped the horn out on my 205 GTI. What resulted was a horn that sounded like an 18 wheeler; and scared the bejesus out of all those who were bipped ... I want something similar. Comically loud.

Thanks all, hope you're 2022 has started well. :beerchug:

A piece of cake to install but I assume its a bumper off job.
The horn's gone on my F80 M3 and I bought a twin pipe Fiamm horns and need to fit them. I'm waiting for a sunny day.
