Hi all,

There's an Avant I'm considering and the seller has mentioned there is a gap in the service history - receipts can't be found for any work done over a period between 70-90k miles on the car. So a total of 20k miles with no receipts.

My questions are, will garages/service centres have any records that can be traced by the seller? Alternatively do Audi have any logs done with them by centres to cover these kid of gaps?

It would put me off buying with the gaps as they are, even though all the major work seems to have been done and looks good condition otherwise.

Any help much appreciated.

If the work was done in the previous owners ownership then they should be able to get it.
If it was under a different owner then I doubt they would get access with GDPR and all that.

What's the mileage on the car now and was the last service recent?

20k isn't a massive gap, but it's not ideal.
I wouldn't completely write it off.
Just depends on how many others are out there and if there are other better options.

Are there MOTs to show any advisories? I'd be making sure I got it properly inspected.

I've done an MOT check but tbh have realised I wouldn't want anything without a complete SH.

Sorry, this is probably a bit late but just saw your post.

If the servicing was done by Audi they will have logged it on their system. I just got a service certificate from my local dealer for my 57 plate which showed the date, mileage and services include 2 that were missing from the service book.

Assuming this is the UK of course
