DON'T DO IT ???? 20' RIMS
DON'T DO IT ???? 20' RIMS
So after 3 years of having 20' rims I've decided to bite the bullet and go down a size, and my advice to anyone thinking about going to a 20 is DONT.
In 3 years I've gone through 4 new alloys and 18 repairs to cracks all being £70 per repair on cracks, seriously its not worth it, the fact you go up to a 20 means the tyre is only a 30 or 35 i cant remember which, that along with 33 psi max gives no cushion at all and even the slightest pot hole will crack the rims.
I don't have cheap rims either id say middle of the road regards cost and quality but it makes no difference.
My advice on a B7 RS4 is at the very biggest go 19' x 9.5j, standard is 8.5j and i did go up to a 10j which just rubs on the arch sometimes.
Anyway just some advice from a owner of 20' rims over a 3 year period, hopefully it saves some of you some money, just looking for what to buy next now though, i love the look of my wheels but i would hate to buy the exact same wheel again just smaller as it wouldn't feel like I've bought a new set.
Any ideas of what wheels look good on the rs4 ?????

Which brand 20” rims did you have?
I’ve been running 20s for most of my 6-7yrs of ownership with no cracks or buckles.

The standard tyres are 35 profile too (255/35R19), 20s usually only need a 30. Maybe it's how you're driving... or road condition where you're driving? Are you running stretch to get the 10s to fit?

Same here, I ran 20" wheels (genuine Audi) for several years with no issues at all and highly recommend it.
