Post by Rs4spark » Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:26 pm

I have just purchased another RS4 Cab - my Forth !! I have not had one for 7 years,

This one has only done 22k from new - 06 plate,

it seems to haver vibration issues and judders - I have had all wheels balanced,

The tyres have sat and have not done a lot of miles in the last few years

Wondered if anyone has any thoughts ?

Thanks in advance

Could be one or more of the alloys has a buckle or crack causing the vibration. Take it to an alloy wheel place and they can have a look for you. I had a similar issue to you. :beerchug:

Checking the obvious.

Is it just under any braking?
Does the vibration come on at a certain speed? As per Jezza, something amiss with an Alloy or tyre flat spot.
Is it noticeable from Front or Back - thinking bent drive shaft or centre shaft.

Thanks for your comments,

It Seems at low speeds it is worse , vibration / shaking is more through the steering wheel, it is never an issue when braking.

I have had all wheels checked and balanced at Audi -
Someone said it could be possible dried out engine mounts etc ?
Popping it to a specialist at the end of the week .

I can't think of engine mounts being the problem, if that was the case you could sit still and rev the engine up slowly and feel the vibration through the steering wheel?
What about swapping the front wheels to the back and vice-versa then give that a test on the road. It does sound like a wheel or tyre fault.
