Lifted from another forum:

"Nomenclature on catalytic converters is as follows. CPSI is the acronymn for cells per square inch. CPSI is the description used worldwide despite the metric system.

So therefore 400CPSI, 300CPSI, 200CPSI, 100CPSI and 0.00 CPSI equate to sqeezing 400 small squares into a 1.0" sqaure all the way down to only 100 square cells per 1.00" square"

From memory both will pass MOT emissions testing and in the real world you probably wouldn't notice much difference between them. I probably go for the 100 cell as on paper they're the least restrictive but I would equally mostly be swayed by cost

Many thanks for that, don’t so-pose you know of a company that supplies or makes them that would export to France, just had a quote from Audi France a cool 2450€!!! Thanks again for the info.

I have a set of these with 200 cell cats waiting to go on:

They utilize a metal (not ceramic) catalyst which is good. Quality of fabrication looks solid.

TrevoRS4, I was looking at these cats, is your car a saloon or avant? Did you have to get reductions or is it a straight fit? I have a miltek non res exhaust fitted and think the pipes are 63mm.

Mine is a saloon... the Zinram site says they’re 63.5mm so they should mate right up

Do you know if there is a difference between a saloons exhaust and an avants?

Really interesting in these zinram pipes

I’ve had their Audi TT mk1 downpipes kit before and it was epic quality but didn’t fit the RHD chassis

My only concern is how low to the ground these will be as standard cats are quite slim shaped

Hi, being fitted as we speak, will let you know how they are, delivery took a while and had to email a few times but they look ok.

Hi just car back, drove 100km home, no engine management light coming on. The old cat on left side was totally shot and so were the o2 sensors. Had all the 4 sensors replaced, garage said the replacement cats dropped straight in, so at this time very happy.

Bobby, what size pipework did you order? I've got a milltek cat back and looking for a straight fit job

I am running a milteck cat back non res, the dia is 60mm, you have to specifie on ordering the size you want. They have removed the pre cat. I ordered the 200 cell cats as they conform to Europe standards.

So you bought the more expensive of their 200 cell options?
I finally had mine put on a few weeks ago with the standard 200 cell cats. I’ll say the sound has really been uncorked with the scorpion axle back. Just the right amount of burbles and pops. I also have no CEL for cat performance.
The one downside I have noticed is increased exhaust smell when stopped with the windows down.
For reference I have these: https://www.fahrzeugtechnik-zinram.de/e ... oducts/218
