Key fob failure

Mrs 12th's spare key has got a problem - lock and boot open both work, but open doesn't. Having taken the rubberlike cover off, the underlying button doesn't work, so I suspect a new key is in order. I seem to recall Audi charges like a wounded rhino for these - any suggestions or experience? Her car is the same age as the B7 and the same type of fob.

Iirc Audi charged me approx. £160 for a new key incl. coding etc.
A few of the independent key suppliers weren't keen on supplying the key as coding them can be troublesome apparently.
Bit the bullet in the end ..
