b7 Avant UK tax

Hi,

New member, looking for a b7 Avant.
I have noticed that there are some saloons pre March 2006 and therefore lower UK tax bracket. But I never see any Avant's?
Did they 'launch' the Avant slightly later in the UK?
I know this is only £250 a year difference, and this shouldn't be the difference, given the expected maintenance and running costs.

Is it worth me looking for an earlier model, if they exist?

i used to be picky about the tax but unless an avant has sneaked through the tax scheme i have only ever seen them on the highest tax band

There's isn't any avants on cheaper tax as they weren't launched to may 2006.
