Replacement wheel advice

Post by phil74891 » Sun Jun 28, 2020 11:41 am

Hi there,

I have a Daytona Silver 2007 B7 Avant with 53k miles. It’s a keeper, but the standard wheels need a refurb. Not from curbing, more corrosion. I had them done two years ago and the company that did it said they were in a pretty poor state, having probably been refurbed a few times before I bought it four years ago.

So, I’m thinking I’ll get a new set. Any ideas as to a supplier - or is there an aftermarket non standard set that works particularly well with the car?

I definitely want them to be 19” and take the standard sized tyres, as my Michelin PS4s work great and are nearly new.

I know wheel design etc is highly subjective, but any ideas at all would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Any pics of the wheels? Are there unpainted surfaces? Diamond cut? Wondering how they’ve ended up corroded!

Did the company that did the last refurb completely strip them down - e.g. acid bath?

I’d expect a wheel refurb from a company such as Lepsons or Wheel Works (best ones I know down south) to last for years

I bought my 20" S5 alloys from this chap. One of the nicest chaps I have ever dealt with and a really funny guy who owns the company, I can't remember his name as it was a few years ago. He couldn't do enough for me.
