RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
Hi Folks,
I have an AUX in (Headphone jack) with the green TV interface to plug into the back of my 2006 RNSE head unit for iPod/iphone wired music in.
Can anyone advise how I code this in so it is recognised - ‘feels’ like I need to code in the TV option as ‘on’.
Any pointers welcomed.
Thank you

Re: RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
You should just need to add 4 to the second to last digit in the coding for the RNS-E.
Module 37 or 56 - one should also update the other.
See http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... em_(RNS-E)
And yes, VCDS or similar is needed.

Re: RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
It was all going so well... Until I find that my Ross-Tech USB cable doesn't like the latest version of VCDS (Not used for 5 years and lost the software) and gets stuck at the firmware update.
Anyone know where I can download version 10.6 or 11.11 as Ross-Tech seem to want me to only have the 20.x version.

Re: RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
If you have a genuine cable contact Ross-Tech for support and they should help you, there's no limit on support for genuine kit. If not, you probably have a "clone" that has been linked to a specific "illegally unlocked" copy of their software which to put it bluntly is not their problem.
Your original supplier may be the only one who can help.....

Re: RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
Mmm, had it so long that I don’t know, nut suggests it was a hooky HEX interface. Managed to find a copy of 10.6 but it won’t communicate with the RNSE to allow a recode.
Am looking to change to a 2011 version out of an S3 or similar and then I can put 32Gb on each SD card and sorts my problem. Not keen on the after market Pioneer or Alpine units mentioned on here as trying to stay stock. Not concerned about CarPlay or BT streaming, SD or USB or iPods work for me!
Any other suggestions welcome.

Re: RNSE Aux in via TV post - VCDS needed?
A lot of those "hooky" as you call them interfaces are linked to a specific "cracked" software version so you may well be on a hiding to nothing trying to get that cable working.
Either buy the genuine product or ask around for someone near you with the "real thing" prepared to assist, appropriately compensated depending how well you know them.

Think you are correct, I only ever used it for diagnosis on my previous cars - not coding as in this instance.

Well you're somewhere in Herts, so try being more specific and asking who's near that might help (Social distancing considered)….
