Good how to - cheers for the video.
Would you happen to know the part number for the 3 stretch bolts that are removed when taking off the first bracket?
I need to get access to the starter connectors but don't need to remove / replace the starter itself.
Cheers for any info.

Been looking further into the part number.
Could anyone confirm its number 25 on this diagram please:

part number N91025301 - M10x52, does this sound right?

That makes more sense to me.
I think in the video its implied that the 1st 3 bolts removed are stretch bolts...

Just to complement the video above, I've just noticed there's a section on how to replace the starter in a workshop manual I have.
I've attached a PDF with the relevant pages. It assumes you've taken the undertray off and supported the engine.

cracking guide-tbh looks about the same amount of graft as changing a clutch in any of the tdi fwd vag group lol

just seen this, fantastic vid
I had a starting issue with min a couple of years ago (separate article on here), mine turned out to be high resistance infact higher than the torque output of the starter motor, turned out to be an issue with one of my cams not turning freely resulting in no start, no similar scenarious anywhere on the internet....but that to one side well done
