S4B8 to a RS4B7

Post by cancookwill » Sun May 10, 2020 8:49 am

Hello RS4 B7 owners

I have a S4 B8 Manuel I have enjoyed owning this past 4 years, I have always wanted a RS4 B7 V8 and the V8 itch needs to be scratched, just wondering if anyone has made the move from an S4 B8?
performance wise the S4 delivers similar torque but down on BHP would I miss the supercharger ?

Many thanks

A more engaging drive in the B7 IMO.

You can get more torque by a quick trip to MRC if you are UK-based.

You won't regret it. The step in urge that occurs at around 5,500 rpm goes, and instead the engine pulls strongly throughout the rev range - this is because the standard map doesn't give full throttle in the first three gears until that point, and the MRC map removes this. Mine went in with 405PS and came out with 434, and had slightly more torque than the quoted figure but came out with 359lbs/ft. I think this makes even more difference. Enjoy!

What I would do to have an MRC equivalent here in Australia, I migrated here 8 and half years ago from England and I have been trying to find a company that does a similar job to MRC over here but there doesn't appear to be anyone.

With the RS4 being so rare only 202 Saloons sold here I guess the market for a specialist like that just isn't there.

No worries - just passing along knowledge acquired here with my own experience added. It was stage 2.

Demon - sorry to hear that.
