Ebay steering wheel badge

Post by dools225 » Sat Jan 25, 2020 9:32 am

Has anyone bought one of these to confirm quality & fit?

Looks like the only alternative is to buy the entire trim piece from Audi for about a million pounds

Nice one pal. That’s probably where the ebay thief buys them from!

And that’s if you can find it. There’s a set on eBay but the price has increased by about 600% because Audi now list it as NLA. God knows why they’ve stopped making it. They could charge double for a small production run and they’d all go.

I ordered one of the gel badges and it wasn’t great, never stuck right and I wasn’t happy as it was right in front of my face. I’ve got a sport button trim and a B5 badge for sale if it interests you.

Cheers

Had no problem with my Gel badge, been on 8+ months no issue.

I bought two so I have a replacement, worst case you just super glue it. For £3.50 you cannot go wrong.

I assume this just sticks on top of the existing badge?

It can do yes, however if you're anal (like me) you won't be happy with it.

The problem is the original badge is slightly curved, so once the replacement is stuck to it, it just looks wrong.

So I removed the original badge, and machined the face square. Then stuck the replacement badge onto this with superglue.

Much happier with how it looks now

So how exactly did you remove the existing badge? Did you have to remove the entire lower (silver section) of the steering wheel?

I cut a little bit of abs plastic into the same shape as the badge and glued it in and then stuck the badge on, pretty happy with it.
