Hi everyone, new owner but been reading lots from the forum thank you for the great infos. Just come stuck here as had central silencers deleted and the mechanics noticed the joint leaking just above the pre cat where it connected to the manifold downpipes ( standard triangular connection with 3 bolts )
We figured this could be resolved with a replacement gasket or crush gasket but an enquiry for parts from audi says its a rolled finish ball joint and i could be looking at new manifold exhausts @ £750
Is there a way round this ?

Pre Cat Exhaust Joint to Manifold exhaust
Re: Pre Cat Exhaust Joint to Manifold exhaust
So the fault has now been repaired. Turns out it was a bad repair previously for the last owner and they haven’t drilled out the existing stud fixings ( not sure why the studs had been removed ) - nylon lock nuts had been used and every one of them was loose. The nylon had damaged the thread and it was not possible to tighten them.
I went to Styledynamics in Hayes for central silencer delete and the above repair and couldn’t have asked for a better service
Question - how many of you guys get challenged by cars that clearly are not in the same league when out driving locally ? and in really ridiculous situations...
