Flickering Left Bulb on B7 RS4

Hi All,

I've been advised this is most likely a controller problem rather than the bulb. I phoned Audi and gave them my reg number and they said the part I needed was 8P0907391. Before I go and buy a new one (ouch) I thought I'd better check:

1) is the controller the most likely cause ? It's only happening on left side. If I turn the light off and on again the problem goes away. Intermittent fault in other words
2) how do I check this is the right part ? Apparently it's for the non-adaptive xenon headlights. How do I know which type I've got ?
3) was going to fit it myself, but will be an evening job by the roadside in the dark. Is this feasible ?

Many Thanks !

Ian

If the lights go up/down and then in and out during the self test at startup then you have adaptive lights. If they just go up and down then you have non-adaptive.

Could be a bulb on its way out, my one did this years ago and changing the bulbs fixed the problem. You are supposed to change Xenon bulbs every 3 years anyway as the light output drops off over time.

I left it to a garage to install, you need to move bits of the air intake to access the drivers side as well as having small hands!
