ENGINE LIGHT
ENGINE LIGHT
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, 2 months ago I bought an RS4 b7 and I am very happy with it ( i come from a GOLF R 7) But yesterday, while driving quietly and calmly, suddenly the engine light appeared in the panel. I was scared, but I was doing performance tests and the car works perfectly, there is no loss of performance, the revs are stable, the sound is the same as always, everything exactly the same as always, but the light still there...
IS not the EPC light, is the engine light.
Any ideas what to do now? COnsidering the car works perfecly...i have to worry about that?

Re: ENGINE LIGHT
Emissions check engine light. Likely one (or more) of the lambda sensors. You need to get a VCDS scab for fault codes to identify which.
Re: ENGINE LIGHT
OKay, to 2 weeks ago i remove the center resonator (put instead a straight pipe) can this be reason of the lambda error?
I think about it, but.. the lambdas are before the center section right?

That should not bring out a CEL, you need to invest in a cheap obd scanner or get obd11 so you can share with us the codes that brought the CEL. It could be a range of things and given that its a CEL with no EPC the most common ones are misfires however, we need the codes to help you in diagnosing the issue (s) and suggested next stepsJAMES RS4 wrote:OKay, to 2 weeks ago i remove the center resonator (put instead a straight pipe) can this be reason of the lambda error?

Re: ENGINE LIGHT
Today I was crusing alone (with my engine warning light on ) and suddenly, again, another warning light comes on, EPC this time. So, now I go with the two lights on, engine and EPC. The car works perfectly.
Is it a serious doctor?

Re: ENGINE LIGHT
Waiting for saturday to connect by OBD and see the fault codes, today i did some preformance test ( to asure the engine is fine aside the two warnings ligths) and the car is in a kind of "protected mode" because can´t overpass the 7000rpm, when reaches de 7k rpm, it suddenly cuts the gas.....
Re: ENGINE LIGHT
When the EPC light is on this will limit your revs to 7k. Did you turn the car off and on again and still get an EPC? Usually it goes off and comes back on after a few cycles of codes repeating. Code reader will point you in the right directionJAMES RS4 wrote:Waiting for saturday to connect by OBD and see the fault codes, today i did some preformance test ( to asure the engine is fine aside the two warnings ligths) and the car is in a kind of "protected mode" because can´t overpass the 7000rpm, when reaches de 7k rpm, it suddenly cuts the gas.....

Re: ENGINE LIGHT
One question, I can use the car? o can be dangereous ? I need to go to some places....
Re: ENGINE LIGHT
OKay, these are the code errors that have come out in Vagcom. We have deleted the errors and have not gone out again in the dash, and the car works perfectly.
The question is, can they come out again?
