H&R Coilovers- rear arch rubbing
Good afternoon all! Hoping someone could help
Since my DRC pipes corroded, I took the plunge to get the old bird sat on some H&R's with upper and lower control arm bushes replacement. Unsure of how far its been lowered, but noticed that the wheels sat way too far in for my liking so had I threw some 12mm spacers on- looks just right! The issue I have however Is the rear passenger side appears to sit a fraction lower than the rear drivers side. As a result, it scrapes over most bumps that are on the left side of the road/going around a roundabout at anything over 20mph but faultless when turning left (which causes lean to the right) however going across a large crevice or dip in the road and I hear scraping all over the place.
Now when this was all fitted, my mechanic said its likely the fronts will "settle" and need raising slightly if he's set them too low. Looks like it just needs raising 5mm on the fronts and we'll be ok. But he told me the rears have been set as high as they could, although the rear passengers side gives me just about one fingers clearance whilst the drivers side rear is a full fingers clearance.
Had a poke and listen around and sounds like the rear arch liner is rubbing against the tyre wall on the passenger side, but could there be any other reason as to why theres an imbalance in the height at the rear if they really have been set to maximum?
For info, running standard 19" wheels, 12mm spacers and H&R Monotube coilovers.
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice you helpful folk could give me!

Re: H&R Coilovers- rear arch rubbing
Most people run 8mm front and 10mm rear spacers on the standard OEM wheels. 12mm rubs.
I am running 8mm all round with no rubbing.
Tyre profile can also cause rubbing.

Re: H&R Coilovers- rear arch rubbing
That's weird because looking at the photo it looks at a pretty similar height. Im at work at the moment but when I get home i'll park on some level ground and get some measurements on here- maybe even some pictures too If I can get my browser to upload them
Re: H&R Coilovers- rear arch rubbing
The height is not the problem. He is running 10mm spacers and you are running 12mm.
Change the spacers.

Just get rid of the spacers, also if you get rubbing on your front arches do not get them rolled, have them professionally flattened. You should really get your coilvovers setup professionally and it will sit evenly.

Professionally flattened? Curious how this can be done without rolling?
Re: H&R Coilovers- rear arch rubbing
Heated and tapped back. But be very careful as Aluminium as we all know has a very low melting point. This is why you need someone who knows what they're doing. Rolling can also crack the lips.

Is it possible that you have a little more camber on the side that isnt touching
If the heights are set correct side to side than the only thing that could cause this is camber , adjust a little more negative camber on the side that touches
