Beat me to it lol
140 g/sec at 7800 seems low
Take readings at intervals
3000, 4000, 5000, so on (20-22 g/sec per 1000 rpm)
If linear sensor is likely ok
Ok. Thanks for all the advice . Will do another run tomorrow and see what the readings are.

Cheers. Noticed today that it smelt rich as well. Think I'll replace the maf and take it from there. Emailed opie as they don't list it on their site .[/quote]

Well went to take it out today and car wouldn't start! Fault code of Starter Interlock Signal - short to ground . Reckon it could be a clutch switch? Cruise control has been working fine but for ages I've had to hold the starter button down when starting.

Yep imo clutch switch
Having to hold the starter is a symptom

Another idea for the low idling issue, what about the PCV for returning breather fumes back to the air inlet. I'm sure I read somewhere on here a while back that it gives similar symptoms, maybe the diaphragm has perished or burst inside.
Almost like taking the engine filler cap off when the engine is idling

So took it a run today. Peak value of 147g/s at 8200rpm in 3rd gear. Readings at 1k rpm intervals start of at 20-22g/s but this starts to decrease above 5k rpm (18-19g/s) and drops lower still above 6k rpm (14g/s intervals )

Something is choking it down >5000 rpm

Think maybe time for a carbon clean. Has never been done as far as I'm aware .

I would put the airbox back to OEM assuming you still have all the parts?

Also, what engine map are you running, standard?

I noticed this the other day on the MRC website:

STAGE 2
A Stage 2 Map is custom to your car and performed on the dyno. Being normally aspirated every change to your car needs verified and proven on the dyno. Includes: Full throttle in all gears. VVT modifications. Linear throttle option in non sport mode. Secondary air injection disabled for running cold air feeds, no precats, racecats or no cats. Quiet mode start mode. Includes engine health check and dyno time.

"Secondary air injection disabled for running cold air feeds"

Not sure how this would effect a car with a standard map but strange how it is specifically mentioned on the MRC website.

Still have the parts but a pain to put back to standard as easiest with the bumper off again. The secondary air injection is still there and wired in . Only differnce is when the solenoid moves the flap the flap isn't attached to it anymore . My understanding is it only needs mapped if you want to remove all of it . Got it booked in for a dyno day on Sunday so will see what the outcome of that is .

So had it on the rollers today. Standard apart from centre res delete , panel filter and cold air feed. No history of carbon clean . Done 402bhp which is far more than I thought it would . Dyno seemed pretty accurate as power figures for other cars seemed about right ( within 10bhp of manufacturers figures).
