You’ll get a heap of <beep> for 10k. It’ll probs need another 10k spending on it to make it right! Nobody In their right mind would sell a well sorted b7 for 10k.

Buy cheap, buy twice
Your more than likely spend a foretune getting it up to scratch

That’s so disheartening to hear....there like 6 around 10k on eBay and another 3-4 at 12k....looks like I won’t be getting one then 😔

Tbf, it’s not too far off...mine is 2007, Avant, 118k, fsh but previous buyer hasn’t ‘loved’ the car so some cosmetic tidying up to be done, and that’s £11500ish.

It's the consumables that are mega expensive on an RS. People dont really look into then when buying, as well as £550/year road tax and 15mpg, they are expensive to run. Then you have the common issues like aux rad, oil cooler pipes. Then there are other other issues such as manifold issues, clutch/flywheel issues, secondary injection issues, list goes on. Then you will want to mod/tune again quite expensive. Great great cars, dont get me wrong, I've owned 3 different RS's.

Please go in with your eyes wide open.

Some advice...if I may. Find a car in budget that you like. Take someone with you that knows what to look for? Also be worth looking for a decent car to car to compare too.

I am kind of with the last post... Go see it with your eyes open and someone who has one/knows these cars....

Yes, they need a whole heap of maintenance and money but to drive them is to feel alive.

With luck you may just get 20/30K miles of that for little money and that would be a huge win...

Good luck

P

Have you got a decent car to compare with?

Having owned mine for 2yrs now I’d say you need to budget minimum £1-2k per year for maintenance.

Some things are bigger than others but you’re gonna have small things that add up.

Like everyone else has said £10k just opens you up to a tone of other big bills... just check the price of disks and pads..
