Pilot Sport 4 or 4s

Post by KWheeler » Tue Oct 01, 2019 9:44 pm

Hi All,

Coming up to two years of ownership and love the car, just doesn't get used enough (same old sorry). Off to Cornwall next weekend but wanted to fit my new discs and pads and get some new boots on as the pilot sport 2's are still on it since I bought the car.

Who has the 4 fitted or 4s? Would like to understand what the 4s is like on road or whether the 4 is better for all year road driving?

Thanks in advance.

I just put a set of 4S's on my one back in July. No issues with ride quality or noise levels, if anything, they are slightly quieter than the Supersports that were on it before.

Plenty of grip and steering feel in both dry and wet conditions.

No idea if it is a better all-rounder than the PS4 but I certainly have no complaints.

4S is fine, wet or dry, cold or otherwise. Doesn't ride as well as the Goodyear Eagle F1s that preceded it. Great tyre, overall.

I have 4S 'sand they're better than the PSS's I had before. Especially all-round due to the dual compound, so excellent in dry and wet, straight and cornering.
Can't compare to the "standard" 4 but as that's single-compound I would assume it's not quite as good.
Also the 4S (don't know about 4) has pretty good rim protection.

Thanks for the advice all. Car is booked in for Saturday first thing to have the 4S's fitted. Seems like a good setup for the B7.
