RS4 UK values

Post by Beardie » Tue Sep 17, 2019 5:25 pm

Thinking of getting an avant RS4 to replace my M5, but looking for some advice on values.

When I put my M5 into any of the trade buyer or valuation sites, they come back pretty much as I expect, and seem to be in line with Autotrader etc.

But, if I do the same thing with the RS4 there seems to be around £8000 of difference.

I've seen this before where the valuation guides are well behind with older performance cars, but it's odd the M5 is so accurate while the RS4 appears to be miles out with asking prices.

Any particular reason for this, or are current asking prices just too high or overly optimistic?

As you’ll know Auto trader shows values from 10k through to 28k
Already mileage sensitive as that seems to be the driving factor as well as a good base spec.
Not sure how many change hands at that top end - I’ve had a search open for a while and the same cars are there...
I have one coming up for sale soon which if on trader would be in that 27k bracket... and when I price it it will be at the top end of the market. It’s in fabulous condition and low miles.
(This isn’t a sales pitch! 😂)

I know I’ll probably have to hang for a while - winter, economic uncertainty Blah blah.

Personally if I had a 10-12k budget I’d probably look at something else. But that’s just my opinion.

I always thought avants held stronger values but the higher end ones are the saloons although I haven’t seen an avant with sub 40k miles advertised does a while...
