Exhaust Valve Solenoid Connector

Post by Bristol RS » Mon Sep 09, 2019 9:09 pm

The metal connector from one of my exhaust solenoids is missing so there is nothing to connect the vacuum hose to! Previous owner has disconnected both so the valves are always open which is great but I would like to reinstate so the valves work.

Has anyone had to replace this if so what have you used any info appreciated!

I repaired mine but mines a milltek so not sure what a standard valve looks like.

Hi James the original fitting is very similar to that but looks a bit smaller and is pressed into the solenoid I think unlike yours which is a screw fit. Is that a fitting you have put in yourself? Was looking at doing something similar and tapping a thread into it. Any idea what size that is something like 1/8 or 1/4 bsp?

I tapped it to m6 and used a mountain bike brake fitting, I think tapping to m6 and using a brass gas fitting would have been better and cheaper

Thanks mate think I have found the same fitting you have on eBay.. why do you think brass would be better? It’s a couple of quid delivered probably get a boxful from China for that! Still only need one and needs must. I can get on with loosening the valves up now make sure they both open OK..

That’s what I used, I mistakenly tapped mine to m6 and it took ages to find a fitting, there was many more items available in m5 that’s all

Yeah those. Did some searching after you mentioned M5 and ordered this. Should do the job nicely!
