4 pot rear brake conversion
4 pot rear brake conversion
On mine biting and stopping is awesome but the pedal travel until bite is a little more than i thought it would be .
Maybe i haven't bled them correctly or possibly need a larger mastercylinder. I've not read of any complaints so wondered if it was a problem my end .
Cheers
Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Looks cool Rick. I haven't done the conversion so can't really answer but when the brakes on my C7 were changed they pedal became spongier even though the garage re-bled them. After a few weeks they went back to normal. I assume it was a bit of air trapped somewhere and eventually just worked it's way out.
Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Thanks Mike, re painting the fronts now, full strip down and re finish. Ah I've read they get air trapped and you should take the caliper off and twist it round to try to work any air loose.
Once the fronts are on I'll re bleed the whole system again and see what happens .

I've been looking on Ebay mainly for the calipers etc, the pads and disks are new

If you’re looking for a decent kit that is already put together for the B7 I would check voshmods.com , thats where I bought mine.MattboyR32 wrote:Where did u source the brakes and conversion kit if you don’t mind me asking?

Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Sorted this I needed to bleed the abs with VCDS all good now brakes are awesome now
Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Did you get the longer pedal travel sorted? it is normal because the area of the 4 pistons is much more than the area of the single piston caliper. If it is a problem you may need to change the master cylinder.
Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Yes I did thanks. Just bled the abs and it's like like oem feel
Re: 4 pot rear brake conversion
Yes, indeed! One more thing - on the 4 pot calipers you have two bleeder nipples on each caliper, not one, you have to bleed both of them!!!
Start from the internal one and after this you do the external.
